OOC: Erm... I'm doing just a tiiiny bit of time traveling... if you guys don't mind?
BIC:
*As Zephyr trod through the forest, he tried to stay alert. The forests in these lands were not exactly the safest, and with only three beasts... he did feel slightly vunerable. Perhaps it was just the atmosphere. He, Mika and Arien had been traveling for a couple hours since parting ways with Xylia and Cal. And the closer they got to the Blackburn Forest, the darker the trees seemed to get. He glanced back at Arien and Mika.* Only an hour or so more, and we should be in Steluil's land. *He tried to keep his voice low and gruff. It was time to get into character.*
*Arien's wrists were becoming sore, every muscle in her body ached from walking, and the mud she had spread across her arms and face had dried and cracked. Arien did not take much notice though, she was focused on remaining grim. Her acting as a slave.... well, Penni's life may very well depend on it.*

*Mika nodded and fixed her eyes into a cold expression. She was ready for this. She decided that acting as cold and bitter as possible would be perfect for this mission. She straightened knowing she'd have to get close to the ferret who kidnapped Penni in order to rescue her.*

* There was rustlng up ahead, and Zephyr suddenly stiffened, and motioned for both Arien and Mika to stop. Two mangy brown ferrets stepped out of the crooked trees ahead. Their fur was rough and scruffy, and they both wore matching snarls. Their worn helmets and crude weapons gave them away as Steluil's border guards. One was taller, and obviously an older ferret, but his sinister grey eyes showed that age had added years of cruel experience and twisted wisdom that he would not be afraid to use. The second, was fairly young and had light brown eyes that darted left and right as he eagerly took in the travelers. Zephyr immediately went into a defensive position, and growled.* She is our prisoner! We stole 'er right an' proper! So don't you think you'll be gettin' 'er from us!
*Arien, still getting used to acting, tried desperately to try and hide her surprise of Zephyr's transformation. Instead, she focused all her effort onto looking as pathetic as possible, by lowering her eyes to stare at her paws, and causing her lower lip to quiver ever so slightly.*

*Grism slowly took in the scene before him with high suspicion. What was going on... hardly anyone came near Steluil's borders... and suddenly these strangers show up. Why? He squinted his grey eyes as he stared at the young male who had so quickly taken up defense. hmm... he looked cruel enough, but Grism's wise eyes caught something that disturbed him:the creatures eyes... they were a deep green, and too bright, too full of life. Grism's eyes narrowed, he wanted to make sure they were who they said they were. Slowly, he turned to his young apprentice, Buckeye.* Go alert Selia of these trespassers, I'll guard them while you are gone.
*Buckeye nodded hastily, and sprinted off into the woods. He knew all the shortcuts of this twisted forest, and in no time he reached the castle. It was no trouble guessing where Selia would be.... *Moving to Captured*

*Mika stepped forward and hit Zephyr on the arm. She knew how vermin got each other's attention and acting the same way the entire time would be perfect.* How many times have I told you to let ME do the talking?! You're not in charge hear you worthless brute! *She turned her glare to the guard.* And you? Are you going to give us passage or not? We've been traveling all day. And probably been doing more work than you have in a lifetime. *No softness showed in Mika's eyes of steel as she focused her cruelty on her past anger at any beast that had treated her badly in the past. Her dark blue eyes glinted with an icy flare as she faced both her partner and guard.*

*Grism's attention was directed toward the female ferret. Hm, she's fiesty... Grism smiled, but there was no warmth at all in it.* Don't worry, ma'am, this won't take long. Just standard procedure. See... recently the esteemed lord of these lands, Steluil has been afraid of trespassers from the forest coming in here. It's my job to make sure none do enter here, at least not alive. *Grism let the last sentence hang in the air for a moment, in an attempt to convey the cold threat to these suspicious creatures.* But, I'm sure you two have nothing to worry about... so it will only take a moment.
*Zephyr suppressed the urge to rub his arm, Wow... she can hit pretty hard when she wants too!. Although, obviously, he would never admit that out loud. He remained in character, throwing Mika an angry glare.* ME?!? Look at what you've done now with yer big mouth! Now he's mad at us and we'll NEVER get there on time!!! *Behind his glare, Zephyr chuckled on the inside, who would have ever thought that he and Mika's knack for fighting would come in handy!*

*Mika glared back, the fire growing in her eyes.* Listen you idiot, if I have to hear one more word out of you there will be worse things than them attacking us. So if you don't SHUT UP, I'll cut off your tongue myself. *She turned to Grism.* Excuse my friend. He's a stupid beast. You needn't worry about him. He's merely a tent flap waiting to happen.

*The intense anger in Mika's eyes was another thing that took Zephyr off guard, he hadn't expected such pure fury in her eyes. But, pride rose up in him, and he refused to be pushed down by her, even if they were only acting.* Listen 'ere!! I came up with the master plan, I 'ave been the one tugging along this maggot for miles, *Zephyr yanked on Arien's ropes to emphasize his point.* so I think it be only right that I be the one to do the negotinacating around 'ere!!! *Purposefully adding and accent and combining "communitcation" and "negotiation", Zephyr attempted to come across as the sillier, less educated vermin of the two.*
*Grism's eyebrows raised ever so slightly.* ......a tentflap?

*Mika looked again at Grism.* Meaning I'll skin 'im alive and turn 'im into one, if he dares cross me again. *Mika again looked at Zephyr angrily.* Now SHUT it. I'm sure that this fine beast doesn't want to hear us argue all day. He's been patiently waiting here, hasn't he? If I were him I would have killed you already. You're lucky to still be kickin' you dim wit.

*Zephyr rolled his eyes in mock exasperration.* Fine then! Stop yellin' at me and talk to 'im already! *Zephyr turned to look obligingly at Grism.* Listen, sir, me an' miss fiesty over 'ere, we've gots a deadline to meet, an' we can't afford to miss it! So if you'll puhlease just let us here through!
*Grism had been silently observing the whole exchange, when suddenly his sharp ears picked up on something in the distance... that must be Selia. Slowly he nodded.* Oh, no worries... my lady, Selia, is approaching now. Then I would gladly hear your story, and we can grant you passage. *His voice, though calm and polite, was still as cold as ice.*

*Selia heard shouting far before she reached the clearing where the four beasts stood. She quickly took in the scene. Hm... funny... the small little prisoner looked vaguely familar... interesting. Still, after finding a spot near Grism, she wasted no time.* Vhat bringz you here and vhy? Ztate your businezz! Quickly now!
*At Selia's approach, Arien stiffened slightly. Knowing that Penni's captor was so close... it made Arien feel a wave of emotions: sadness, anger, hurt.... but most of it made Arien nervous. She knew how lethal this beast could be.*

*Mika tilted her head coldly. She knew that to earn this creatures trust, she would have to be able to relate to her.* What's going on is that we need passage through. We're willing to pay for food and other such accomidations. *Her dark blue eyes glinted a lighter blue as her coldness increased.* I figured that two dishonest beast such as ourselves might be able to come to some sort of an agreement. *Her grip on her sword said that she was nothing less than a cold blooded killer.* We'll make sure our slave causes no trouble. And perhaps we might be able to trade it for something more useful. *She nudged Zephyr none to gently.* And as for the shouting you no doubt heard earlier... *She sighed* I can't stand the sight of undisciplined creatures such as this pig next to me. I don't know why I still work with him. *She could tell that Selia was a tyrant for order, and perhaps this statement could serve as a bond between ferret and stoat.*

*Selia listened intently to the female stoat's words. This beast reminded Selia a lot of herself... but this actually caused a dilemna. If these two were cold-hearted villians, then if they learned that a Princess was close by, they may try to steal her. From the look at that slave, they had no problems with capturing innocent beasts. But, on the very very small chance they were NOT cold-hearted villians... well, this just might be a trap. There was only one way to ensure that these two did not do anything to disturb Master Steluil's plan... Selia smiled ever so slightly.* Vell, I understand you're fruztration... may I propoze an idea to you two cruel-hearted beaztz? You zee, the great Lord Zteluil livez not far from here, and if you choze to zerve him, you would be mozt zatizfied with hiz payment!
*Zephyr rolled his eyes at Mika's obvious display of disgust for him. he turned slightly to Grism, while Mika and Selia continued their exchange.* She is ALWAYS sayin' that! But she still works with me, because I'm the one who comes up wit' all da plans! Without me... she got nothin' but brutality! I'm da brains around 'ere!
*Grism's eyebrows once again lifted just a little higher. HE'S the one with the brains?! Somehow... that seemed hard to believe.*

*Mika listened carefully to Selia and returned her gaze.* I will think about your offer. However all we need right now is a place to stay and some food. We can pay you amply for our lodgings and we'll stay out of your way. *She turned around to scold Zephyr.* Are you even WATCHING her? *She yanked on Arien's rope.* I can't seem to trust you with ANYthing!
